KBS Gayo Daejun 2010."The Best Song of The Year" goes to....

Today is a hectic day for our ladies.
Having attended the Japan Records Award earlier on,they flew back home shortly after to perform Run Devil Run & Oh! on the 2010 KBS Gayo Daejun.

Unlike yesterday’s SBS Gayo Daejun and tomorrow’s MBC Gayo Daejun,KBS is presenting a ‘Best Song Of The Year‘ award based on digital sales,album sales,broadcast appearances and votes. Our ladies were leading #1 in the votes all the while.

Despite losing out on the Best New Artist Of The Year just now,claiming this trophy with their big hit ‘Oh!’ once again proves their dominance in South Korea.

It’s just a matter of time before they could be as successful in Japan.

Upon receiving the award, SNSD said, “We are very happy as it has been a long time since all 9 of us stood on stage together and we are really thankful for this great gift. During the first recording for snowy wish, not sure which part goes wrong, the music suddenly stops. So during the testing (short break), I saw Yuri and Fany were behaving so intimately at the left side of the stage. Not sure what they were talking about, they were "touching" one another. Fany helped Yuri to adjust the angle of her hat and of course, Yuri allowed Fany to adjust her hat. On the other side, Sica also helped Yoong to adjust her hat and they were having fun doing that. Because of the long waiting time, so when the testing was finally done, the PD shouted very loudly, "SNSD! Stand by!" The nine of them immediately sat properly and the PD immediately said, "Sorry~Let's start~" keke. The way that the PD nim treated our girls was like how a teacher treats the elementary kids. The PD probably felt that the kids were so cute so he kept his strict image/the way he talks.

On December 30th, SNSD will be traveling back and forth between Korea and Japan as they will be attending the year-end events in the 2 countries. This is indeed the proof that SNSD are currently enjoying huge popularity in both countries.

The girls departed for Japan last night (sportsseoul.com mentioned ‘this morning’, which is wrong) and they will be attending the ‘Japan Record Awards’ which will be televised LIVE on TBS. ‘The 52nd Japan Record Awards‘ is an annual award ceremony organized by Composers Association of Japan and SNSD have been nominated for the Best Rookie Award.

Among all girl groups, SNSD were blessed with the most awards this year.

Music portal site, ‘Bugs!‘ conducted a poll from December 14th to December 27th entitled ‘Which girl group were blessed with the most awards in 2010?‘. From 2,829 participants who took part in the poll, 65% (1822 people) voted in favor of SNSD, putting the girls on top of the list.

Netizens commented, “‘Oh!’, ‘Run Devil Run’ and ‘Hoot’ have secured the no.1 spot on various music awards respectively and thus, SNSD are the ones who are blessed with the most awards this year” and “SNSD won the most awards due to their skills and popularity”.

Daum Communications have announced the winners for the ‘2010 Daum Life On Awards‘ where the award ceremony will be taking place on January 3rd, 2011 at the El Tower Grand Hall in Yangje-Dong. Kim Jedong will be the host for the ceremony.

From December 2nd to December 22nd, Daum conducted the online voting process to determine the winners of the ’2010 Daum Life On Award’ through its website. There are 22 categories of awards with 28 award recipients in total.

SNSD's 'Oh!' is the 'Best Song of The Year' on Monkey 3

SNSD‘s ‘Oh!‘ was selected as the most popular song which received the most love in 2010 on online music site, ‘Monkey 3′.

The ’2010 Monkey 3 Best Song 30′ was selected based on the number downloads and online streaming from January 1st to December 10th (90%) and also Monkey 3 user votes (10%).

SNSD were awarded the ‘Star of The Year‘ and ‘Artist of The Year‘ awards by Sports Korea for 2 consecutive years.

In 2010, SNSD released 3 hit songs, ‘Oh!’, ‘Run Devil Run’ and ‘Hoot’ as well as becoming the center of girl group craze syndrome in Japan ever since their debut showcase in Ariake Coliseum in August 2010.

On December 25th at the waiting room in Ilsan, Gyeonggi-do, the awards came as a surprise to the girls as they could not believe they have won the two awards. Although the girls have grown into a big star across Asia, they are indeed still cute and shy girls. Here are some of the reactions from the girls after winning the awards:

Before the year ends, SNSD added another impressive achievement by securing the 2nd spot on Oricon Weekly Album Chart.

According to Oricon on December 28th, SNSD’s licensed Japanese Edition of 3rd Mini Album ‘Hoot’ recorded sales of 61,000 copies in the first week, thus making it the 2nd hottest selling album in Japan for the week.

Oricon stated, “SNSD’s single ‘Gee’ captured the 2nd spot before but not on the album chart. This is SNSD’s first top 10 entry on the album chart”.

The Japanese edition of the mini album ‘Hoot’ consists of SNSD’s hits such as ‘Tell Me Your Wish’, ‘Gee’, ‘Run Devil Run’, ‘Oh!’, etc.

Hanteo Releases Results For “2010 Singer Award

SNSD topped Hanteo’s annual “Singer Award” chart for 2010!

Based on album sales data collected by analyst Hanteo, the “Singer Awards” chart revealed that SNSD sold a total of 303,442 copies from January 1st through December 26th.

The chart takes into account all albums released throughout the artists’ career, but only factors in sales that those albums made during 2010.

GooD Morning Japan!! Happy Holiday..Tiffany is Back!!

After resting for a month from her knee injury, Tiffany finally makes a comeback to complete the power of nine. The nine girls performed ‘Gee’ on this morning Mezamashi TV and Tiffany started the song’s intro by adorably said, “Good morning, Japan! Happy holidays.” As you can see on the screencap above, the choreography is altered a bit so that Tiffany doesn’t have to kneel down on the ending pose.

Here’s what Tiffany said:

On December 21st, the Japanese version of SNSD’s 3rd mini album, ‘Hoot’ was released and as expected, it received overwhelming response from the local fans.

SNSD’s 2011 calendars which were on sale since November 23rd sold even hotter than hot cakes.

The calendars, which are available in desktop and wall type are put up for sale and also being auctioned on Gmarket and according to them, the overwhelming demand and massive popularity drive large traffic to the event page and subsequently crashed the server.

Pre-orders were taken until December 5th and the calendars were shipped from December 10th onwards.

SNSD Dominating All Ages..Daebak!!

Korea Gallup confirms SNSD (Girls’ Generation) as “Singer of The Year” and two of their songs, Hoot and Oh!, also ranked as 1st and 2nd “The Most Popular Song in 2010″ respectively. This is a huge feat because, as you may already know, Gallup is a professional research company which polls often referenced in the mass media as a reliable and objective measure of public opinion. That’s right, public opinion. The survey involved 3,401 random male and female citizens, aged 13 and above. SNSD ranked as #1 in almost all age group category except for the 60+ citizens.

SNSD was selected as the ‘Singer of The Year’ for the 2nd consecutive year from a survey conducted by Gallup Korea.

Music download site Soribada has declared SNSD to be the best artist of 2010.
Soribada said on the 20th, “We looked at music trend charts, searched items, and more; the artist that netizens searched for the most was SNSD.”

SNSD and Kara ended 2010 with a Bang! in Japan

SNSD and Kara recorded the highest sales for new artists who ply their trade in Japan in 2010.

According to Sankei Shinbun on December 20th, based on recent Oricon sales data collected from 39,580 stores, the sales results were reflected on the ’43rd Oricon Annual Ranking 2010′.

Tiffany (21), of the nine member beautiful-legged Korean girl group SNSD, who paused her activities after injuring her left knee in the middle of last month, will perform again on the 23rd at the broadcasting of FujiTV‘s morning news program 'Mezamashi TV' (5:25 am). Her comeback announcement was made on the 19th.

On December 17th, the girls performed ‘Oh!’ and ‘Gee’ at the Lotte World Free Christmas Concert right after KBS Music Bank Year-End Special. If you noticed, they actually wore the same lovely blue costumes for the Lotte World concert as well.

Something funny happened during the ‘Gee’ performance. Sunny seemed to have ‘created her own lyrics’ at 7:23 (the video below) and Yuri could not stop laughing and in fact, other girls too, notably Sooyoung and YoonA. There were some cute SunRi moments after that and Sunny was laughing throughout the performance. She must be wondering how she came up with those ‘new lines’…LOL.

On We got Married aired on 18th, as part of the mission Yong Hwa recommended going over to CNBlue's dorm.

Before going, Yong Hwa phoned Jong Hyun to ask what he was doing. Jong Hyun didn't know Yong Hwa had his phone on speaker phone, and he answered, "Just in underwear on the bed relaxing" which freaked Seo Hyun out.

Yong Hwa added, "It's on speakerphone so Seo Hyun can hear you and she's freaking out."

At this Jong Hyun panicked and repeated "She can hear? She can hear?". However, Jong Hyun seemed to be enjoying freaking Seo Hyun out and added "Min Hyuk is also in his underwear"

At this SeoHyun seemed to be shocked and said "I'm not going to your dorm" which caused laughter.

Yonghwa learns the ‘Robin Hood Dance’ and imitates Seohyun’s expression

On this week’s episode of ‘We Got Married’, SNSD’s Seohyun taught C.N Blue’s Yonghwa the‘Robin Hood Dance’ from their hit track, “Hoot.”
Jung Yonghwa said to Seohyun, “I heard the song ‘Hoot’ came 1st for the 2nd week in a row,” which eventually led to Seohyun transforming into a passionate teacher and teaching her ‘husband’ the dance steps of “Hoot.”

The music scene was very exciting in 2010. BIGLOBE MUSIC held their “BIGLOBE MUSIC AWARDS”, BIGLOBE MUSIC and BIGLOBE Search paired up and the nominations were of artists who were looked up often. SNSD Shoot Music Bank for 2 Years in a Row

Awards keep flowing in for the girls! Today, SNSD were crowned with the 2010 K-Chart Award for their 2nd Album title track, ‘Oh!‘. In the first half of 2010, ‘Oh!’ consistently sat on the top of the K-Chart for 5 weeks in a row and for that, it was also chosen as the #1 song for the first half of 2010 on KBS Music Bank K-Chart.

With the win, the girls have won the Year-End K-Chart Award for 2 years in a row. In 2009, ‘Gee’ took the #1 spot for 9 weeks in a row and thus crowned as the winner for that year. To help you recall, here’s a photo from last year.

The trailer of the upcoming MBC drama, ‘My Princess’ was revealed on December 16th and Kim Taehee’s ‘Hoot’ dance as seen in the trailer has garnered much attention from the viewers. The new drama will be aired starting January 5th, 2011.
